Our Glasgow Showroom Opening 2025

The Glasgow showroom builds on the same thinking behind our London spaces, applying it to a very different context. Our aim was to create an environment that feels open, practical, and recognisably JDD, while responding to the building's character. Rather than treating the space as a static display, we used it to show how thoughtful layout, sustainable choices, and furniture working together can support real working environments.

The Vision

Following the evolution of our London showroom, we wanted our Glasgow space to express the same thinking while responding to a very different setting. The aim was to create a showroom that felt open, practical, and design‑led, while respecting the building's character and its location. As with our London spaces, the focus was on showing how furniture can work together to define areas, support different ways of working, and feel accessible rather than overdesigned.

Our Execution

Our in‑house designers and sales team developed the layout, taking cues from the London showroom where it made sense, while allowing the Glasgow space to retain its own identity. We used furniture to create zones rather than fixed structures, ensuring the showroom could display a broad product range without feeling crowded. Wherever possible, original features were retained to reduce waste and limit the refurbishment's impact. Material and fabric choices were guided by our sustainability principles, with a strong emphasis on recycled and natural fibres, and a palette of greens and blues to create a calm, natural feel. Natural planting was introduced throughout the space to soften the environment and reinforce the connection between indoors and outdoors.

Final Thoughts

The Glasgow showroom builds on the same principles that underpin our London spaces: thoughtful layout, practical sustainability, and furniture designed to work in real environments. It allows us to show how different products can sit comfortably alongside one another, while maintaining openness and clarity. More than a display, the showroom is a working example of our approach. Balancing consistency with context, and design ambition with everyday practicality.
