2 City West: A Reception Transformation

City West Office Park in Leeds is a 93,000 sq ft Grade A office destination, just 1.5 miles from the city centre, with direct access to the M621. The reception plays a key role in shaping first impressions and enhancing tenant experience.

A Design Led Brief

Ben Johnson Interiors, in collaboration with Studio 93, was appointed to transform the reception, drawing inspiration from boutique hotel environments. The aim was to move away from a traditional corporate feel and create a softer, more inviting arrival space through sculptural forms, layered textures, and a refined material palette.

Studio 93 introduced a warm, elevated scheme that combines modern materials with soft, organic lines. The design balances visual impact with functionality, reimagining the reception as a welcoming, hospitality-led environment rather than simply a waiting area.

Celebrating British Design

Our Terry banquette sofa takes centre stage, upholstered in a rich velvet from Panaz (Luxe). Studio 93 worked closely with us - Mayan Christophides and Senior Interior Designer Jake Harris collaborating to refine its sculptural form, flexibility, and fabric application. Our 3D product configurator enabled us to visualise the end before anything was sent to production. A true example of partnership and innovation.

“Specifying JDD felt very natural to me. I’m always looking to celebrate British manufacturing, supporting local craftsmanship while ensuring quality, efficiency, and design integrity.”

Collaboration & Delivery

Working closely with Ben Johnson Interiors, our in‑house design and manufacturing teams played a key role in carefully considering every detail and delivering the project to a concise programme. The result was a seamlessly coordinated scheme that fully realised the design vision on site.

The result is a refined, hospitality-inspired reception that enhances the overall perception of 2 City West. Creating a warm, sophisticated first impression for tenants and visitors alike - the outcome of multiple teams working seamlessly from imagination to installation.
