Fifteen years ago, JDD began with a simple idea shared over a drink between two old friends. Today, we’ve grown into a team of over 90 people, designing and manufacturing innovative furniture solutions from our headquarters in Dudley, with showrooms in Birmingham, London, Glasgow, and Dubai.
Recently, we were proud to be featured in an article about how our journey has evolved and how Autodesk Fusion is helping us design and deliver even better products.
When we started, everything was about passion and saying “yes” to opportunities — even when we didn’t yet know how we’d make it work. That spirit has carried us through as we’ve developed over 30 product lines, from sofa dens and banquettes to our new Yume Rest Pod.

As our designs became more complex, we needed tools that could keep up with our ambitions. Moving to Autodesk Fusion has transformed the way we work. Parametric modelling means we can adapt products in minutes instead of hours, collaboration is smoother across our design and manufacturing teams, and even the factory floor benefits from easier access to accurate models.
Beyond the software, we’re also committed to shaping the future of design through our student placement program. Fresh perspectives from the next generation of designers bring new ideas and energy, and we’re proud to give them the chance to learn alongside us while helping shape our products.

Looking ahead, our focus remains on wellness in design — creating spaces that support people in workplaces, universities, libraries, and beyond. With Fusion in our toolkit and a passionate team driving us forward, we’re excited about what’s next.
