We’re proud to announce that we at JDD (Joint Design Direction) have been awarded the Environmental & Social Value (ESV) Certification, a new standard developed by Made in Britain in collaboration with MAP UK & International. This Certification recognises our ongoing contributions and commitment across people, planet, and place - including employing and training people in the UK, supporting local communities, and operating in line with UK legislation and regulations on ethics and environmental sustainability.
The ESV Certification is part of a purpose-built programme designed to inform, engage, and empower UK companies - particularly SMEs - to articulate and promote what they already do, and communicate that clearly to customers and stakeholders. It reflects the increasing importance of Environmental & Social Value in both consumer and public sector decision-making, especially under the Procurement Act 2023 and the UK Government’s Social Value Model (PPN 002).
As a Made in Britain company, we’re already contributing to the UK’s wider industrial, environmental, and social goals through our everyday operations. The Certification helps make that visible, strengthening how we communicate our value and giving us a commercial edge in a highly competitive UK market.
Key highlights of our Environmental & Social Value include:
- Local employment: We employ up to 100% of our workforce in the UK, supporting local job creation, regional investment, and community prosperity.
- Training: We invest in future talent by providing accredited training and apprenticeships, supporting our employees’ personal career growth.
- Carbon reduction: We have a carbon reduction strategy aligned with Net Zero targets.
- Waste: We actively track waste and divert a significant portion away from landfill through recycling, repurposing, and donating to local schools and businesses.
- UK supply: We source up to 100% of our materials locally in the UK from reputable, certified suppliers.
We’re delighted to have received the ESV Certification, which highlights and promotes the contributions we’re already making to the UK economy, society, and environment. It gives us a clearer way to communicate our value to the people and organisations we work with - from buyers and stakeholders to our local community.
