Transforming employee spaces at RDaSH Hospital

The Meet Up

Our very own Mayan Christophides, met with the Contents Design team to gain a clear understanding of RDaSH NHS’s goals. The brief centred on designing spaces where individuals and teams could work, unwind, and connect.

From the outset, Mayan guided the exploration of seating and layout options, helping shape an environment that offered natural separation without disrupting the overall flow. Practical touches - such as integrated power modules - were incorporated to ensure the spaces fully supported contemporary working habits.

The Vision

Together, we shaped a design concept centred around our Bob 4-seat meeting pod, chosen for its versatility, comfort, and ability to anchor the different zones within the space. One of the advantages of working with us is that every element of the Bob pod - from manufacturing to upholstery and electrics - is handled in-house (as are the rest of our products). This meant we could respond quickly and confidently to the specific needs of the project.

In total, we installed 16 pods, each tailored with purpose. Twelve were supplied as standard with integrated tables and power, creating focused spaces for up to four people to meet or work. For areas that required a different kind of interaction, we adapted two pods by removing the seats and tables, transforming them into open yet private spaces ideal for quick conversations or quiet moments. The final two were customised with individual seating to ensure accessibility and comfort for every user.

Because our team oversees the full process from imagination to installation, we were able to make these adjustments quickly and without disruption to the schedule. This flexibility allowed us to fine-tune the pods to RDaSH NHS’s exact requirements and ensure the finished environment felt inclusive, considered, and cohesive. Frosted manifestation was added across selected pods to elevate privacy while maintaining an open, welcoming feel.

Final Thoughts

Partnering with Contents Design was a genuine pleasure, and we’re thrilled with how smoothly the project came together. Clear communication and detailed planning meant we were able to manufacture, deliver, and install quickly and efficiently.

As Contents Design shared: “Big thanks to JDD for their pod installation at RDaSH NHS this week. One of the best installs we have seen in a long time.”

We’re excited for what we’ll create together next!
