Workplace Dining for a Sustainable Future

Working in partnership with Alpha, we were delighted to support the transformation of a well known renewable energy company's Perth office canteen into a space that feels as inviting as a café while offering the practicality required for a busy workplace. The goal was to design a stylish, comfortable, and highly functional dining area where employees could relax, connect, and recharge throughout the day.

The Meet Up

Our Scotland Sales Manager, Julie Carson, met with the Alpha team to gain a detailed understanding of their client’s requirements. The brief focused on creating a welcoming dining environment that encouraged social interaction and flexible use - from quick coffee breaks to informal team meetings.

Julie worked closely with the Alpha team to explore seating and layout options that would bring warmth and flow to the space, while also incorporating practical features such as integrated power modules to support modern working habits.

The Vision

Together, we developed a design concept centred around our Cedric low back banquette seating, chosen for its clean, contemporary profile and exceptional comfort. The Cedric range helped to create structure within the open-plan canteen, defining zones for dining and socialising. Cedric is available with a choice of bases, and for this project, a plinth was chosen, keeping the fabric off the floor, protecting it from vacuuming and mopping.

To help balance the aesthetics, our Fearne planters were added between seating areas - introducing greenery and a sense of calm that complements the overall design. Recognising the client’s focus on functionality, power modules were discreetly integrated into the banquette seating, allowing staff to stay connected and productive throughout the day.

Final Thoughts

The completed space is a true reflection of how a modern workplace should be. Stylish, practical, and people focused. The combination of Cedric banquette seating, Fearne planters, and integrated power solutions has created a canteen that not only looks fantastic but also supports how employees use the space every day.
