This week marks 16 years since JDD was officially registered back in July 2010. What started as an idea between two friends has grown into a UK furniture manufacturer with a team of over 90 people, multiple showrooms, and a 35,000 sq ft production facility in the West Midlands.
A few facts we're proud of:
- 16 years since James Mercy and Joe Duffell put pen to paper and officially created JDD | Joint Design Direction.
- Launched JDD Labs, including a dedicated facility, for the exploration of innovative technologies.
- Completely re-imagined our London showroom for Clerkenwell Design Week 2026.
- Exhibited at Workspace Design Show London 2026.
- Supported our local Brummie roots at Design Social North.
- We've seen a 17% growth in revenue year on year.
- Signed for our new flagship Manchester showroom with Sheila Bird Studio.
- We have launched Eve, Archie, Charlotte, Luca, Luna 2 & 3 seat sofas, as well as Rita 2 & 3 seat sofas.
- Welcomed 15 new team members.
- Renewed our commitment to Forest Stewardship Council, Made in Britain - official, Real Living Wage, British Furniture Association, Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme and SEAQUAL INITIATIVE.
Most importantly, thank you to our customers, dealers, suppliers and team members who have been part of the journey so far. Sixteen years in and it still feels like we're only getting started. The ambition, excitement and drive to improve are as strong as ever, and we can't wait to show you what the next chapter has in store.
